Baseball Falls to College of Central Florida

Tuesday's game against College of Central Florida was a heartbreaker for the Loggers, as they lost the lead late in an 8-5 defeat.  The game was tied at five with College of Central Florida batting in the bottom of the sixth when Carson Bayne's sac fly scored one run for College of Central Florida. 
College of Central Florida got things started in the first inning.  John Marant grounded out, scoring one run. College of Central Florida took the lead for good with three runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth Thad Ector hit a solo homer and Bradke Lohry hit a solo homer.
The  Loggers tallied five runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower by Lincoln Land was led by Adam Passmore, Luke Kracik, and Drew Ezard, all driving in runs in the frame. Todd Kniebbe was credited with the victory for College of Central Florida. The pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over one inning, striking out two and walking zero.  Hunter Pankey and JD Smith entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Smith recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Central.
Evan Addis took the loss for the Loggers. Addis surrendered three runs on five hits over three and a third innings, striking out one and walking zero.
Porter Conn started the game for Lincoln Land. Conn allowed four hits and three runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two Logan Plasencia started the game for Central Florida. Plasencia lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits and five runs while striking out four.
The Patriots launched three home runs on the day. Lohry had a four bagger in the sixth inning. Ector had a dinger in the sixth inning. Edwin Toribio went for the long ball in the third inning. Passmore went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Loggers in hits.
The Patriots saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game.  Ector, Lohry, Marant, Bayne, and Toribio all managed multiple hits for College of Central Florida.
