The Lincoln Land Women played host to Waubonsee on Saturday to finish out the semester wining the contest decisively 74-44.
The Loggers played one of their most consistent games of the season on both ends of the floor. Lincoln Land used solid defense and transition offense to outscore the Chiefs of Waubonsee 20-11 in the first period. The second quarter was much of the same as the Loggers won the quarter 19-11 to hold a 39-22 half time lead. Addison Scarlette had a stellar first half scoring 15 points before the break.
The Loggers stayed consistent, as they patiently picked apart the zone defense of Waubonsee. The deciding factor was the rebound advantage as the Loggers out rebounded the Chiefs 29-17 on the night. The Loggers only managed to put one player into double figures - Addison Scarlette. However, seven Loggers scored seven or more points in the contest.
The Loggers were lead by Scarlette in scoring with 20 points. Cassidy Kretschmer pulled down a season high 12 rebounds and managed to dish out a team high eight assists. Kretschmer also lead the Loggers with three steals.
"Cass was good tonight." Stated Logger coach Chad Jones. "She played with a motor and made a lot of things happen".
Lincoln Land improves to 9-2 on the season and is off until January 7th when they travel to Kaskaskia College for a non-conference contest.
