The Lincoln Land Loggers survived a road scare at Kaskakia College in a come from behind 59-55 win. Lincoln Land jumped out to a quick 14-4 lead, only to see Kaskaskia go on their own 12-2 run. The first half scoring for Kaskaskia was mostly done from beyond the 3point arc as the Blue Angels hit a season high 8 three point field goals in the half. The Loggers were down 36-28 at half after scoring 14 points in the first five minutes of the first quarter.
Lincoln Land struggled in the second half but managed to only trail by 2 points at the end of the period. The game stayed tight with LLCC taking the lead back with six minutes to go. LLCC held the lead until Kaskaskia had possession of the ball, down 2 with under 40 seconds to play. The Loggers made a great defensive stand and secured the victory with two free throws in the final seconds by MacLayne Taylor.
Lincoln Land struggled from the field shooting just 35%. This with unusually poor three point shooting (27%), and going just 16/28(57%) from the charity stripe, made the victory difficult. The Loggers were lead in scoring by Sadie Bueker with 14. MacLayne Taylor and Katryel Clark each contributed 11 points respectively. Clark lead the Loggers with 16 rebounds.
