The Lincoln Land Loggers soccer team went up to Chicago Wednesday afternoon to play against Moraine Valley College and came away victorious, 2-1.
Moraine struck first at the 5:00 mark of the game with a goal. Omar Barragan crossed a ball to Hyoungwoo Kim for a head ball goal. The Loggers fought back and scored a goal when Pedro Cesar passed a through ball to Douglas Moura for a goal to tie it at 1-1 at halftime.
The second half went back and forth between the two teams. Cale Sherrock came up big with 9 saves in the game for the Loggers. Douglas Moura broke through and was tackled from behind for a penalty kick. Adam Naim was able to convert on the penalty to put the Loggers up 2-1. LLCC held on defensively and kept the Cyclones out of the goal for the rest of the game.
2-1 was the final score for the Logger victory.
