#14 Lincoln Land Lady Loggers defeated M-WAC opponent John Wood 89-49 Monday afternoon at Cass Gym. Lincoln Land started out on fire by draining five 3 point shots in the first quarter. Madison Jones led the way by connecting on three 3 pointers with Hannah Wallen and Nicole Robinson hitting one apiece. The scoring barrage continued for the Loggers in the second quarter. Jones added to her career high 30 points and buried four more 3 point buckets to propel LLCC to a 58-29 halftime lead. John Wood came out the third quarter and made a little run by out scoring Lincoln Land 15-13. However, the lead was never compromised with the Loggers scoring 16 points and only giving up 6 points in the final frame to seal the conference victory.
Coach Jones was obviously pleased with the team's performance. "We've circled the beginning of conference play since the first day of practice. Today our intensity and our ability to play solidly on both ends of the floor was huge. Everyone stepped up and did their job which led to today's win."
Madison Jones led Lincoln Land with 30 points. Katryel Clark had a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. Adding to the scoring was Hannah Wallen with 14, Nicole Robinson and Havilyn Dulin finished with 9 and 7. Dulin and Robinson dished out 7 and 5 assists apiece. The Loggers were led in steals by Havilyn Dulin with 4. Nicole Robinson and Hannah Wallen each finished with 3.
