The Lincoln Land men's soccer team looked to build a winning streak when they squared off against St. Louis Community College Sunday afternoon, however the Loggers were unable to do so as they fell 2-0 and now are 1-2 on the year.
The first half was a back and forth affair as both teams had control of the ball fairly equally. However, the Arches of STLCC were able to produce shots on goal (5) while the Loggers could not. Lincoln Land was still in good shape though as goalie Cale Sherrock stopped all five attempts sent his way. The game went into half tied at 0-0.
Again both teams has stretches of control the ball and game, but St. Louis finally were able to put a shot in the net around the 25:00 of the second half. The Logger's Christian Fierro was able to get 2 shots on goal, but both were stopped by the Arches goalie. Lincoln Land had to play through quite a few injuries as a total of 6 Loggers went out of the game. With all of that against them, the game was still a 1-0 contest until the 80:00 when St. Louis capped their victory with another goal.
With the victory, STLCC improves to 3-1, while Lincoln Land falls to 1-2.
