Lincoln Land unable to slow down Central Florida offense

The Loggers provided the runs against Central Florida, but were unable to stop a hot offense in a 12-9 loss Tuesday afternoon. The Lincoln Land offense was led by freshman shortstop Talon File and first baseman Noah Powless. File was able to connect with a fastball in the 3rd inning, sending it over the 400 foot marker in centerfield. The long ball was one of two hits File chipped in. Noah Powless also contributed multiple hits, one being a double to deep centerfield that scored two.
The Loggers defense played well, tracking down multiple fly balls in a deep outfield, preventing runs and helping their pitchers strand six Central Florida base runners. CJ Fleming made a clutch play in the middle of the ball game, cutting a ball of in the left centerfield gap and gunning down a runner at second base. The alert play kept a runner at 3rd base, and kept Central Florida off the scoreboard in the inning.

The loss brings Lincoln Land to 3-6 on the year. They finish off their spring trip with 5 more games later this week. They get a day off, then start up again Thursday afternoon at Southeastern University.
