The Lincoln Land Lady Loggers lost a hard fought conference game with Lewis & Clark 75-78. The Loggers trailed at the half 39-41 but were able to take a 75-73 lead with 1:30 left in the game. Unfortunately, Lincoln Land was not able to get a much needed basket to preserve the win. The Loggers had a chance to tie the game with six seconds left but a traveling violation was called before a shot could be taken.
Lincoln Land shot 28/62 (45%) from the field and went 5/10 (50%) from the 3 pt line. The Loggers finished 12/15 (80%) from the free throw line.
"Today's loss was a tough one," said Coach Albert afterwards. "We played well enough to win but we failed to finish the job. I thought our energy and effort was awesome but we had too many mental lapses throughout the game that cost us. For the most part, the girls executed the game plan and that allowed us to have a chance to win at the end. Brooke and Ella did a nice job of defending the 6'4 post. Madison had another great offensive game for us as well. We still have a few games left before the tournament but we're starting to peak at the right time."
Madison Jones drilled 5 three point baskets and had a game high 28 points. Hannah Cameron and Hannah Krukewitt both had 11 points. Jones led Lincoln Land with 7 rebounds and Nicole Robinson finished with 6 assists.
