The #8 ranked Lincoln Land Women's Basketball team suffered their first loss of the season to Lake Land 69-72. The game was tightly contested throughout. Lincoln Land took their first lead of the game with 3 minutes left to play 63-62. The Loggers extended the lead to 67-65 with 2 minutes left but two empty possessions allowed the Lakers to come back for the late victory. Lincoln Land had an opportunity to tie the game with 5 seconds remaining on a sideline out of bounds play but Madison Jones's-three point attempt rimmed out.
Lincoln Land was led in scoring by Hannah Wallen with 18. Katryel Clark finished wit a double/double of 15 points and 11 rebounds. Madison Jones scored 11 and Havilyn Dulin had 10 points.
"We played with a lot of intensity against a very good team tonight," stated Coach Jones after the game. "We have to stay focused and keep working hard. We have a tough stretch of games coming up so tonight's game will hopefully prepare us for what's coming in the next two weeks."
Lincoln Land is now 8-1 on the season.
