The #15 ranked Lincoln Land Loggers Women's basketball team faced #7 St. Louis C.C. Monday afternoon and came away with a 71-61 victory. Lincoln Land found themselves trailing after the first quarter 23-18. St.Louis was able to connect on three 3 point baskets during the period. The Loggers responded by limiting St.Louis to only two made free throws the entire second quarter and took a 35-25 halftime lead. Coming out of halftime, Sophomore Madison Jones and Freshman Hannah Wallen scored 8 and 5 points respectively to propel LLCC to a 20 point quarter. Lincoln Land held St. Louis to only 12 third quarter points and extended the lead to 55-37. Free throws were the key for the Loggers throughout the fourth period. Nicole Robinson and Havilyn Dulin were able to connect on 8/10 from the charity stripe. Madison Jones added 6 points during the final frame to seal the 71-61 win.
Coach Jones was obviously pleased with the team's performance. "We played with a great deal of intensity today. We knew coming in that St. Louis was one of the best teams in the country and we had to match their speed and physicality. The girls responded with great effort and were rewarded with one of our best wins of the year."

Madison Jones led Lincoln Land with 21 points. Katryel Clark finished with a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds. Rounding out the scoring was Havilyn Dulin with 12 and Hannah Wallen contributed 10. Nicole Robinson had 4 assists and 2 steals. Madison Jernigan pulled down 5 rebounds.Â
