The #8 ranked Lincoln Land lady Loggers got back to their winning ways by defeating Jefferson county 74-62. The loggers jumped out to a 20-15 first quarter lead behind 7 points from sophomore Madison Jones. The second quarter saw Jefferson cut into the Loggers lead by outscoring them 13-11. Despite being outscored by 2 points during the second quarter, Lincoln Land still held a 31-26 lead at the half. Hannah Wallen and Madison Jernigan lead the loggers during the third quarter scoring 5 points each. During the third quarter Lincoln Land was able to outscore the Vikings 24-22. Entering the fourth quarter up 55-48, Katryel Clark dominated in the paint with 6 points. Jefferson was forced to extend their defense, but the Loggers were able to handle the pressure and outscore the Vikings 19-14 with a final score of 74-62.
"Tonight was a game of a lot of small runs by each team," Stated Coach Jones afterwards. "I thought our offensive transition at times was really good tonight, but we had too many unforced errors which led to 23 turnovers. This was a big win for us, especially coming off our first defeat of the year last week."
Clark led LLCC with 19 points and 11 boards
Katryel Clark led the Loggers with a double/double of 19 points and 11 rebounds. Hannah Wallen finished with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Madison Jones has 15 points and went 2/4 from the 3 point line. Nicole Robinson scored 8 points and had 5 steals. Havilyn Dulin contributed 6 points and 6 rebounds.
