Lincoln Land Women's Basketball team improved to 2-0 after defeating Moraine Valley 80-68. The Loggers dominated the first quarter and help the Cyclones to 7 first quarter point while scoring 22. Moraine Valley regroup during the second quarter and outscored Lincoln Land 27-17. However the Loggers remained ahead 39-34. After halftime the team's traded baskets throughout the entire third quarter with the Loggers up 60-53. With the Loggers leading by 7 the fourth quarter was going to be a battle of wills. The Loggers won the battle and outscored the Cyclones 20-15 for a final score of 80-68.
Coach Jones said "I think the best part of the game tonight was our offense. There still is a lot of improvement we can make, but they played right into our hands. The more pressure they gave us the more we scored. We were able to run up and down and they where slower than us."
Lincoln Land had five players score in double figures. Clark led the team in scoring with 22 points. Madison Jernigan led the team with 9 rebounds. Leading the team in assists was Havilyn Dulin with 5.
Lincoln Land shot 44% all around. Shooting 36% from the 3-point line and going 75% from the free throw line.
Lincoln Land improves to 2-0 on the season.
