Kaskaskia - 92
Lincoln Land - 77
The Loggers looked to take the next step and get a victory at home against Kaskaskia and although they battled hard they eventually fell, 92-77.
The Loggers dropped their first game of the year by 25 to Kaskaskia and tonight gave Kaskaskia everything they could handle. The Loggers were able to hold a few small leads through out the first half, and trailed 35-31 with 4:30 to go in the half. Kaskaskia rattled off a 15-4 run to push that lead out to 15. Freshman Jordan Brooks knocked down an open three to stop the Kaskaskia run, but LLCC went in to half trailing 50-38.
Lincoln Land kept pace with Kaskaskia and began cutting into their deficit and found themselves in a 56-51 hole with around 11:30 to go in the game. However, the Loggers ran out of steam and began falling behind. Open threes and easy transition buckets allowed Kaskaskia to hold a lead as high as a 19 points on their way to the 92-77 victory.
The Loggers ended with three players in double digits led by freshman Nic Hagel who put in a team high 21. Sophomore Logan Clayton had 18 and freshman Mitch Hardiek, despite being limited to 15 minutes due to foul trouble, ended with 14.
Lincoln Land falls to 0-5 on the season, but are trending in the right direction. They will have a big matchup Saturday afternoon when they travel to Rend Lake.
