The Lincoln Land Loggers took on Heartland in Bloomington Thursday night. What was a cold, windy game that went both ways for the majority of the match saw Heartland come out on top 2-1.
Heartland came out hot and scored two quick goals in the first 25 minutes to put the Loggers behind early. At the 10:00 Mark Lewis Dale put in a shot from 25 yards out in the side of the net unassisted. 15 minutes later Matheus Giron found Angel Lopez for the second goal, to go up 2-0. Christian Fierro, who gave Heartland a tough time all game, got loose and was fouled for a penalty kick at the 34th minute of the 1st half. Christian scored the penalty to bring it to the halftime score of 2-1.
LLCC controlled the whole second half and out-shot Heartland 6 to 2, but could not score. The Loggers found themselves at the end of the game on the wrong end of the 2-1 score.
