Loggers Win again, beat WIU 10-9
It took just about every weapon in the Loggers' arsenal to take down the Warriors from Webber International University on Thursday, winning 10-9 in ten innings, and extended their winning streak to four.

Lincoln Land trailed the entire game, until the top of the ninth inning when the Loggers rallied to score two runs and took a 9-8 lead. With one out, pinch hitter Clay Bachman drew a walk and was replaced by pinch runner Sam Anderson. After an Austin Deal strike out, second baseman Xavier Collier was hit by a pitch to bring up lead off man CJ Fleming. Fleming, who was 5 for 6 on the day, hit a two strike pitch to right center field for a double that cleared the bases.
With a questionable call by the field umpire and an infield single, the Warriors responded with a run in the bottom of the ninth to force extra innings. In the top of the tenth, Nick Maton (3 for 6) lead the inning off with a towering homerun to right center. Lincoln Land threatened to add to the lead, but came up short sending the game to the bottom half. Logger freshman Rick Dour finished it out for LLCC on the mound, striking out Luis Besterio to end the game. Dour (1-0) earned his first win of the season and extended the Loggers record to 7-1.
The Loggers had some outstanding performances in the game. Redshirt freshman Noah Powless was a huge factor in getting his team back in the game. Powless, appearing in his first game of the season, was 3 for 4 with four RBIs , including a two run homrun in the second inning, a solo shot in the fourth, and a run scoring single in the seventh. Maton fished with three runs batted in, one on his homerun, another on a triple in the fifth , and plated one on a single in the sixth. On the mound, Noah Kesselmayer kept the Loggers in the game, coming on if relief of starter Jack Staten with nobody out in the second. He finished with five innings of work, allowing only one earned run on five hits and two walks. He also struck out eight.
"Thought we came out of the gate a little sluggish, but the guys kicked it in gear and I'm proud the way they kept fighting," coach Riggle said after the long game. "Had some guys really step up, had some clutch hits when we really needed them. "
Lincoln Land will play a double header on Friday against Macomb Community College, first game scheduled to start at 12:00pm.
