The Lincoln Land Loggers put themselves in a 15-0 hole and were unable to recover, eventually falling to the Lynx of Lincoln College, 66-53.
 
The first 7 minutes Lincoln Land was down 20-5 and did not look like they were prepared to play. In the first half Lincoln Land found themselves down by as many as 24 and trailed by 22 at the break 42-20. The Loggers shot a dismal 1/17 from behind the arc and 7/30 from the floor. To add to the injury they were 5 for 11 from the free throw line as well.
 
Lincoln Land has been in this position many times this year and were not completely out of the game. The second half the Loggers slowly clawed back in to competitive range. At one point in the second half the Loggers were able to stiffen up their defense and got 15 defensive stops out of 16 possessions. Largely thanks to that defense the Loggers found themselves down only 6 at 53-47 with just over 5:00 remaining. Again, Lincoln Land has been in this position many times this year and again ran out of gas and were unable to close deficit. Free throws for Lincoln missed shots by the Loggers allowed the final gap to expand again to the eventually 13.
 
"I am incredibly disappointed with our effort to start the game. We just played one of the best games of the year and follow it up getting down 15-0 to start. You can't win games when you do that. I was blown away by how poorly we shot in the first half as well. We looked scared and unprepared. For a long stretch tonight we absolutely out played them, but we can't outplay them after we get down 24," reflected Chad Jones following the loss.
 
Lincoln Land only had one scorer in double digits which was freshman Trace Gentry who made 4 threes for 12 points. Gentry also pulled in a team high 5 rebounds.
 
Lincoln Land falls to 15-12 on the season, 2-7 in MWAC. They finish the season at home against #2 Parkland College on Saturday.
