The Lincoln Land Lady Loggers won their second game of the Lincoln Classic 70-61 over D1 Sauk Valley.  The Loggers took a big lead into the second half up 38-19.  Sauk Valley did make a run mid way through the fourth quarter to get within 8 but Lincoln Land held on for the win.

The Loggers were led by Madison Jones who finished with 23 points.  Brooke Ferree and Shelby Thompson had 14 and 10 points apiece.  Ferree also led LLCC with 9 rebounds and Jones finished with 8.  Nicole Robinson had 5 assists.

Lincoln Land shot 27/72 (37.5%) from the field.  LLCC  went 9/25 (36%) from the three and finished 7/13 (53.8%) from the free throw line.

Coach Albert was happy with the outcome this weekend.  "It's great to come away with back to back wins.  Madison and Shelby shot the three ball nicely today.  We struggled shooting yesterday so it was great to see those two knocking down shots.  I also thought Brooke hit some big shots for us on the block.  However, we have to find a way to play more consistent throughout the entire 40 minutes.  We play outstanding basketball for 5 minutes and then we have lapses where we have unforced turnovers and become lazy defensively.  Yesterday and today, we got out to nice first half leads only to let each opponent come back and make a run at us.  Hopefully we can learn to be more focused and extend leads in the future."

Lincoln Land is now 5-3 on the season.
