LLCC defeats Lincoln 25-20, 25-21, 25-21

LLCC finished 2nd at the MWAC Volleyball Tournament, defeating conference foes Lewis & Clark and Lincoln College while falling to NJCAA #2 Parkland in a 3-1 decision.  The story of the day for LLCC was an inability to get out of the gate quickly.  In nine of the ten sets played, the Loggers spotted opponents a quick three points, oddly trailing by a score of 5-2 in six of those sets. While the Logger came back against Lewis&Clark and Lincoln, they were not able to against Parkland.  The sole set won was delayed by a rules question with LLCC trailing 8-12 that was eventually decided in LLCC's favor, sparking a quick turnaround and a 25-21 win.

"We can't spot teams points.  We almost lost sets to both Lewis and Lincoln today because of it, and in the second set against Parkland, we made two absolutely silly errors back-to-back and I told Will (LLCC's assistant coach), 'That's the two points we'll lose by' and it was.  Against the top teams, you just can't give them free points.

"To the girls' credit, we never gave up or stopped fighting--and that's why we won those other two matches."

The Logger's record now sits at 22-6 and will have a quick turn around to play Monday night @ 5:30 vs. Lincoln Trail.
