Kendall Knop
LLCC came out hot from the start, dominating Lincoln College 25-9, 25-13, 25-17. Kaylee Beekman got the Loggers rolling with five straight points on serves followed by a string of kills by Talesha Scott and aces by Scott which pushed the lead to 16-3 and the eventual final score. The second game went back and forth to 8-8 before Kendall Knop took over, serving thirteen straight points and picking up six digs during that time. It was 21-9 when her run ended and the two teams traded sideouts to the final of 25-13. Game three saw LLCC go out to a quick 12-4 lead and hold it from there behind key defense from freshman Andie Sobotka and offense from Kaylee Beekman who finished with seven kills.
"Yesterday was our first practice since Thursday, so we had a bunch of stuff to work on. It was a rocky practice because it was all about what we've been struggling with, but you can't fix it until you have time to practice. Tonight that practice bore fruit."
