The Cougars of Illinois Central College came to play despite the heat as they defeated the Loggers at home, 7-1. The Loggers had only two subs going into the match. Kyle Goetz and Colin Sprague both got their first start today due to Logger injuries. Alex Clark played the entire game at goalie for the Loggers. Alex Hammerlink (back up goalie) played on the field today to help out with substitutions for the Loggers.
ICC dominated the ball the entire game. Tom Driscoll had 4 assists for ICC while Luka Andononski had 3 goals. Oscar Gordillo had the lone goal for the Loggers on a free kick about 30 yards out. Gordillo hit a nice bender around the wall to beat their keeper. That goal made the score 2-1 Cougars, but after that ICC went on a scoring run to post 5 more goals to take the Loggers out of the game. Coach Pete Christofilakos commented, "We fought the entire game but with injuries to key players, and the heat and no subs. that is what got us in the end."
