The Lincoln Land women's basketball team lost their Region 24 game against Lake Land 81-60. Lake Land held a 40-27 half time lead.
Lincoln Land only trailed 18-17 after the first period but struggled during the 2nd. Lake Land was able to extend the lead by outscoring the Loggers 22-10 in that period.
"We knew they relied heavily on shooting the 3 but we still gave up too many open looks," said Coach Albert after the game. "Lake Land shot extremely well today. When a team goes 12/19 from the arc, it puts a lot of pressure on your offense to keep up. Statistically, we forced more turnovers than we committed and rebounding was virtually even (25-26) We didn't shoot poorly today (22/53) but we did have a few possessions that our offense broke down. I believe if we're a little more disciplined on both ends of the floor we'll be fine in the future."
Lincoln Land finished the game shooting 22/53 (42%) from the field and went 5/12 (42%) from the 3 point line. The Loggers forced Lake Land into 17 turnovers while committing 12.
Chloe Albert led Lincoln Land with 14 points with Sydnee LeGrande and Molly Smith contributing 8 points each. Jordyn Hughes added 7 points. LeGrande and Hannah Krukewitt both pulled down 4 rebounds and Selena finished with 4 assists.
Lincoln Land is now 3-2 on the season.
