LLCC took #1 and undefeated Parkland to five sets on their home court but fell short on Tuesday evening in a match in front of a packed and rowdy Parkland Gymnasium.  LLCC started strong out of the gate, taking an 18-11 lead in game one before a string of unforced errors allowed Parkland to come back and tie the game at 24 and then win 26-24.  LLCC came out strong though in the next game, leading from 6-6 onwards for a 25-19 victory.  Game three saw Parkland jump to a quick lead that they held throughout the game winning 25-23 before the Loggers stormed back in game four, leading from start to finish, winning 25-21 and forcing game five.  The Loggers scored the initial point, but then confusion over substitutions cost LLCC a point and before the ship could be righted, Parkland had a 8-3 lead, cruising from there to a 15-6 win to remain undefeated. 
 
Coach Jime Dietz reflected after the exhausting loss,"We talk about unforced errors--we had that at Marshalltown, but we were able to climb out of the hole--you can't do that against a #1 team.  Game one was the key for the whole night--six consecutive errors let them back in the game and great teams will use that.  That put us in a 1-0 hole--we dug out of it to force game five, but really, I felt that we could've won that in four.  We'll keep working on the mental errors and see how we look this coming weekend when we play a few more ranked teams at Parkland's tournament."
