Today the Loggers traveled to Champaign, Illinois to take on the Parkland Cobras in the first round of Region XXIV playoffs. Despite the cold and windy day, the Loggers played tough but not well enough, losing to the Cobras 1-0. LLCC had three or four chances to score but just couldn't find the back of the net. Ryan Brown and Oscar Gordillo both had a couple of good shots on goal. Naba Alzhri had three shots on goals as well. Coach Pete Christafilakos commented, "Alex Clark was the goalie for the Loggers and did an excellent job the entire game." Twenty five minutes in the first half, the referee called an inadvertent handball deflection which gave Parkland a penalty kick and the only score of the game. The Loggers never gave up, they battled hard and controled the last twelve minutes but without a score.
Coach Christafilakos reflected on the season, "It was a great season and I'm proud of my boys for fighting and playing hard despite a season of injuries, we did the best we could."
