The Loggers lost game one to Heartland 5-2 on 8 hits and 4 errors. Losing pitcher, Ridge Ackerman went the distance allowing 9 hits but only 2 earned runs. Ackerman (8-1) struck out 7 and walked 1. Bryce Wright went 2-for-3 with 1 RBI. Will Schneider was 2-for-4 in game one. With two outs in the 6th inning, Colby Griggs tripled to center field but was left at third as the Loggers failed to score.
Heartland out hit the Loggers in game two 14-7. The Hawks won game two 14-4 by the 8 run rule. Lincoln Land was unable to stop the Heartland bats and used 3 pitchers in the loss. All 14 runs were earned. Sawyer Howard (L, 3-5) threw the first two innings. Howard faced 14 batters allowing 6 runs on 6 hits. Ryan Bailey gave up 3 runs in his one inning of work, followed by Taylor Staff who allowed 5 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks. Neal Aherin led the Loggers hitting, 3-for-3 (triple) and Colby Griggs was 2-for-3 with a double. Will Schneider was 1-for-2 (HR, 1 RBI).
Lincoln Land will host the Hawks tomorrow at Claude Kracik field at 1 pm. LLCC is now 32-12 and 15-7 in MWAC.
