The Lady Loggers struggled in the first game with a run of unforced errors--they had been up 23-19 and 24-22 and lost 24-26 when they hit three in a row out of bounds or into the net. The second game started the same way with six Illinois Valley points on unforced errors before we righted the ship and recovered for a 26-24 victory. That was important as it swung the momentum, so that when the Loggers came out in game three and took a quick lead, they stayed focused and were okay from that point on.
LLCC had three players (Maxwell, Orrick, and Hathcoat) to the all-tournament. Coach Dietz said, "We had a fourth that could've been selected--and maybe should have been. Jassamyn Criss had a good weekend hitting and blocking and got some votes--I was happy with that." Dietz felt that it would have been a well-deserved honor had she been selected.
