East Peoria – Bryce Sablotny and Jarod Pellman shine in the first game victory against ICC Cougars. LLCC scored two runs in the first inning. Two runs was all pitcher Bryce Sablotny needed to get his 6th win of the year (6-2 record). Sablotny went the distance allowing only three hits in the shutout. Sablotny had four walks and eight strikeouts 2-0 conference victory.
Jarod Pellman went 3-for-3 in the first game with two RBI’s. Blake Gand and Jake Lance added two hits each in the victory.
In the fourth inning of the second game, the Loggers scored ten runs thanks to sharp hitting of Jarod Pellman. Pellman hit a two-run homer and a RBI triple in that same inning. The 13 to 9 lead after eight innings was not enough to ensure a win for the Loggers. ICC scored 4 runs in the 8
th inning to tie the game 13-13, and then 2 runs in the 11
th inning beat the Loggers 15-13. Jake Ingold went 4-for-5 with a homerun in this game. Jarod Pellman was 5-for-8 on the day. ICC out hit the Loggers 19-16 in the second game with both teams getting 35 hits for the day.
Five Logger pitchers appeared in this game with Kyle Culli (0-2) taking the loss in relief.
The Logger Baseball team is now 22-13 on the year with a 9-9 MWAC record.
