Melinda graduated from Blue Ridge High School in 2012. She was a varsity starter all four years. High school career statistics: .406 batting average, 180 total hits, 20 home runs, 12 triples and 133 RBI’s. She holds the school record for total career hits. She was selected as a member of the All-Conference team every year (first team-senior, junior; second team-sophomore, freshman). She was chosen for the Class 1A All-State team (second team-senior; third team-junior). She was named Best Offensive Player (junior year) and Best Defensive Player (sophomore year). Her high school softball team won the Regional Championship all four years and placed in the Elite 8 her freshman year.

Melinda wants to continue to play softball while earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting or business. She is a St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Rams fan.
