Katie graduated from Tri-City High School in 2012. She was selected for the MSM All-Conference softball team (first team-junior and senior; second team-sophomore). She was a member of the State Journal-Register All-Area team in 2012 and was the runner-up for the SJR Female Senior Athlete of the Year. She received an honorable mention on the All-State team. In addition, Katie played on the high school basketball team and made All-Tourney teams for the Waverly Thanksgiving, Tri-City Holiday and Sangamon County Classic tournaments. As a senior, she was chosen for the MSM All-Conference first team and received an honorable mention on the IBCA All-State team. She earned Academic All-Conference honors as a college freshman.

Katie plans to attend Eastern Illinois University or Southeast Missouri State University and hopes to play softball. Her favorite sports teams are the USA Softball team, the Dallas Cowboys and the U of I Basketball team.
