Chuck Shanklin joined the Loggers as head coach in April 2018. Shanklin is a 20 year veteran of the coaching profession and came to LLCC after spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Springfield Southeast High School. He helped the Spartans to a year of “firsts”. The Spartans captured the Collinsville holiday tournament champions and its first state tournament appearance.
Coach Shanklin has coached the only team to go undefeated in the Central State 8 conference. Shanklin has coached throughout the state of Illinois as well as had a stint in Arizona.
Coach Shanklin is a graduate of University of Illinois-Springfield, with a bachelor’s in economics. He currently resides in Springfield and has a son, Gavin.
