Loggers Season Comes to an End in the Regional Championship

Game 1 - Loggers Defeated By Vincennes University Trailblazers

The Loggers could not keep up with Vincennes University Trailblazers 6-4 on Saturday. Vincennes University Trailblazers got on the board in the first inning after Andrew Hendrickson induced Nate Montgomery to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.

Brooks Neuhoff singled to left field, which helped the Loggers tie the game at one in the bottom of the second. A double by Seth Impson gave the Loggers the lead, 4-1, in the bottom of the third.

Vincennes University Trailblazers made the score 5-4 in the top of the fourth after Bryce Gross hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Bradyn Douglas singled, scoring one run, and Nate Montgomery singled, scoring two runs.

Jacob Allen earned the win for Vincennes University Trailblazers. The pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over six and one-third innings, striking out four and walking none. Andrew Hendrickson took the loss for Loggers. The right-handed pitcher went six innings, allowing six runs (two earned) on eight hits, striking out six and walking two. Colton Okes started on the hill for Vincennes University Trailblazers. The right-handed pitcher surrendered four hits and four runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking three.

Seth Impson provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Loggers with three runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-4 on the day. Nolan Turner led the Loggers with two hits in four at bats from the leadoff position.

Vincennes University Trailblazers accumulated 10 hits in the game. Nate Montgomery drove the middle of the lineup, leading Vincennes University Trailblazers with four runs batted in. The left fielder went 2-for-5 on the day. Bradyn Douglas led Vincennes University Trailblazers with three hits in four at bats from the leadoff position. Noble Johnson and Jevan Andrews each collected multiple hits for Vincennes University Trailblazers. Vincennes University Trailblazers turned two double plays in the game.

Game 2 - All Offense In Loggers Loss Against Vincennes University Trailblazers

Both teams put up a bunch of runs, but the Loggers fell to Vincennes University Trailblazers 14-8 on Saturday. Vincennes University Trailblazers collected 17 hits, while the Loggers had 11.

Ethan Hurst collected three hits in three at bats in the loss. Ethan Hurst hit a home run to left field in the fourth inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the sixth inning. Vincennes University Trailblazers opened the scoring in the top of the second thanks to two singles. Vincennes University Trailblazers first got on the board when Evan Doran singled, scoring one run.

The Loggers flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring five runs on two hits to take the lead, 5-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to left field by Colbie Glenn that drove in three. The Loggers scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth on a home run to left field by Ethan Hurst. Vincennes University Trailblazers scored two runs in the top of the sixth on a home run to left field by Carter Gricius.

Carson Allen earned the win for Vincennes University Trailblazers. The righty gave up six hits and one run over five and one-third innings, striking out three and walking one. Mark Wolak stepped on the bump first for the Loggers. The pitcher allowed seven hits and seven runs (one earned) over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking one. Grayson Reichert opened the game for Vincennes University Trailblazers. The starter surrendered one hit and three runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking three.

The Loggers collected 11 hits in the game. Colbie Glenn led Loggers with three runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The center fielder went 2-for-5 on the day. Seth Winkler collected two hits for Loggers in five at bats. Loggers turned one double play in the game.

Vincennes University Trailblazers tallied 17 hits in the game. Carter Gricius provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Vincennes University Trailblazers with four runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-5 on the day. Evan Doran went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Vincennes University Trailblazers in hits. Bryce Gross, Noble Johnson, Jevan Andrews, and Corbin Napier each collected multiple hits for Vincennes University Trailblazers.
