Loggers Drop Midweek to SWIC

Loggers With Tough Game Against SWIC

The Loggers had trouble keeping up with SWIC - Blue Storm in a 16-4 loss on Wednesday. A single by Colbie Glenn put the Loggers on the board in the bottom of the second. DANE DEWEES stole home, which helped SWIC - Blue Storm tie the game at one in the top of the third.

SWIC - Blue Storm flipped the game on its head in the top of the fourth, scoring six runs on six hits to take the lead, 7-1. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in two. SWIC - Blue Storm scored five runs on two hits in the top of the fifth inning. A wild pitch scored one run, JACK HARPER hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, BRENDAN BROCK singled, scoring two runs, and JACKSON STANEK drew a walk, scoring one run.

TYLER WEBER earned the win for SWIC - Blue Storm. The left-handed pitcher surrendered two hits and one run over two innings, striking out three and walking one. Will Leman took the loss for the Loggers. The starter went four innings, surrendering seven runs (five earned) on eight hits, striking out one and walking one.

Ethan Hurst, Braylan Smith, Ryan Oswald, Kaeden Bowles, Seth Impson, Jack Ford, and Colbie Glenn each collected one hit for the Loggers. Seth Impson and Colbie Glenn each drove in one run for the Loggers. The Loggers turned one double play in the game.

SWIC - Blue Storm tallied 15 hits in the game. JACK HARPER led SWIC - Blue Storm with three runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The infielder went 2-for-3 on the day. DANE DEWEES set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading SWIC - Blue Storm with three hits in four at bats. GEOVANI ESCANDON, JOSE TRINIDAD, BRENDAN BROCK, and COLIN RYDER each collected multiple hits for SWIC - Blue Storm. SWIC - Blue Storm had a strong eye at the plate, amassing seven walks for the game. SWIC - Blue Storm didn't commit a single error in the field. BRENDAN BROCK had the most chances in the field with six.

The Loggers play at home on Friday against John Wood CC in their next game.
