Loggers Split to the Jaguars

Game 1 - Loggers Falls To Jaguars

The Loggers lost to the Jaguars 5-2 on Saturday. The Jaguars got on the board in the third inning after Alex Fernandez hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.

In the top of the fifth inning, the Loggers went back into the lead after Braylan Smith singled to right field, and Kaeden Bowles hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

The Jaguars jumped into the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Mark Wolak induced Garrett Fultz to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Garrick Winkeler induced Alex Fernandez to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, and Ethan Durbin singled, scoring two runs.

Eric Fields earned the win for the Jaguars. The pitcher surrendered four hits and two runs (zero earned) over nine innings, striking out seven and walking three. Mark Wolak took the loss for the Loggers. The right-handed pitcher went four and one-third innings, surrendering four runs on five hits, striking out three and walking one.

Braylan Smith, the Loggers's number seven hitter, led the team with two hits in four at-bats.

Alex Fernandez and Ethan Durbin each drove in two runs for the Jaguars. Ethan Durbin went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Jaguars in hits. Zach Russell collected two hits for Jaguars in three at bats. Chris Lewis stole two bases. Jaguars stole four bases in the game. The Jaguars turned one double play in the game.

Game 2 - Impson Leads Loggers Past Jaguars

Seth Impson struck out 10 batters as the starting pitcher led the Loggers past the Jaguars 5-2 on Saturday. Seth Impson gave up four hits and two runs over nine innings while walking none. The Loggers got on the board in the fifth inning after a passed ball scored one run.

Adam Price singled to center field, which helped the Jaguars tie the game at one in the bottom of the seventh. A walk by Seth Winkler gave the Loggers the lead, 2-1, in the top of the ninth.

Isaac Murray singled down the right field line, which helped the Jaguars tie the game at two in the bottom of the ninth. The Loggers jumped back into the lead in the top of the eleventh inning after Andrew Hendrickson singled to right field, Ethan Hurst doubled to right field, and Payten Mugele hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

Ryan Oswald earned the win for the Loggers. The hurler surrendered one hit and zero runs over one and one-third innings, striking out three and walking three. Jason Dorning took the loss for the Jaguars. The right-handed pitcher went one inning, giving up three runs on four hits, striking out one and walking none. Eric Rodriguez opened the game for the Jaguars. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and two runs (one earned) over eight and one-third innings, striking out four and walking three. Conrad Charpentier collected the save.

The Loggers accumulated 10 hits in the game. Ethan Hurst and Seth Winkler each collected two hits for the Loggers. Payten Mugele, Andrew Hendrickson, Ethan Hurst, and Seth Winkler each drove in one run for the Loggers. The Loggers turned one double play in the game.

Isaac Murray and Adam Price were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for the Jaguars. Alex Fernandez, Braxton Waller, Isaac Murray, Zach Russell, and Adam Price each collected one hit for Jaguars.

Next up for Loggers is a game against Jaguars on Sunday.
