Game 1 - Lincoln Land Loggers With Tough Game Against Parkland College

Lincoln Land Loggers had trouble keeping up with Parkland College in a 14-4 loss on Sunday at LLCC. Parkland College got on the board in the top of the fourth inning after Nicole Sinks homered to center field, Maddie Gourley singled to center field, and Jordyn Turner tripled to left field, each scoring two runs.
Ryleigh Davidson hit a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the fourth for the Lincoln Land Loggers. Shelby Finchum homered to center field, scoring two runs in the bottom of the fifth for the Lincoln Land Loggers.
Parkland College scored five runs on three hits in the top of the seventh inning. Kailee Otto doubled, scoring one run, Mckayla Schendel was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Nicole Sinks singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and Abby Jackson induced Lindsey Muskopf to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.
Mya Brown earned the win for Parkland College. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and three runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one. Faith Nestler took the loss for Lincoln Land Loggers. The righty went three and two-thirds innings, giving up six runs on five hits, striking out five and walking two.
Shelby Finchum drove the middle of the lineup, leading Lincoln Land Loggers with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Emmy Renfro and Abby Hendricks each collected two hits for Lincoln Land Loggers. Lincoln Land Loggers turned two double plays in the game.
Parkland College collected 12 hits in the game. Nicole Sinks provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Parkland College with three runs batted in. The catcher went 3-for-4 on the day. Nicole Sinks and Maddie Gourley each collected three hits for Parkland College. Kailee Otto collected two hits for Parkland College in two at bats. Lucy Fearday led Parkland College with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying four walks for the game. Parkland College turned two double plays in the game.

Game 2 - Lincoln Land Loggers Stymied By Parkland College

Lincoln Land Loggers had trouble keeping up with Parkland College in a 14-5 loss on Sunday at LLCC. Parkland College opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two home runs. Parkland College first got on the board when Claire Black homered to center field, scoring two runs.
Lincoln Land Loggers tied the game in the bottom of the first thanks to a double by Emmy Renfro, and a single by Abby Hendricks. Parkland College took the lead in the top of the second inning after Kailee Otto singled down the left field line, Jordyn Turner singled to center field, and Claire Black grounded out, each scoring one run. Parkland College added one run in the third. Abbey Horeis doubled down the left field line on an 0-2 count, making the score 7-3.
Claire Black earned the win for Parkland College. The starter gave up four hits and five runs (three earned) over three innings, striking out two and walking two. Brooke Boden took the loss for Lincoln Land Loggers. The starter went two innings, allowing six runs on seven hits, striking out none and walking none.
Emmy Renfro led Lincoln Land Loggers with two hits in four at bats. Taryn Millburg and Emmy Renfro each drove in two runs for Lincoln Land Loggers. Lincoln Land Loggers turned one double play in the game.
Parkland College collected 20 hits in the game. Number eight hitter, Abbey Horeis, showed the depth of Parkland College's lineup, by leading them with four hits in four at bats. Claire Black and Abbey Horeis each drove in four runs for Parkland College. Nicole Sinks, Ellie Lowe, Maddie Gourley, Lucy Fearday, and Jordyn Turner each collected multiple hits for Parkland College.
Lincoln Land Loggers will travel to KCC Softball Spring 2025 for their next game on Tuesday.
