Loggers Take Two Games at Heartland

Game 1 - Finchum Drives In 5 To Lead Lincoln Land Loggers Past Heartland Hawks

Shelby Finchum drove in five runs on four hits to lead Lincoln Land Loggers past Heartland Hawks 9-0 on Saturday at Normal, IL. Shelby Finchum hit a home run to right field in the fourth scoring two, doubled in the first scoring one, singled in the second scoring one, and doubled in the sixth scoring one.

Lincoln Land Loggers jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Shelby Finchum doubled, scoring one run, and Ryleigh Davidson homered to center field, scoring two runs. Lincoln Land Loggers added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Maddie Adams tripled down the left field line, and Shelby Finchum singled to center field, each scoring one run. Lincoln Land Loggers scored two runs in the top of the fourth on a home run to right field by Shelby Finchum on an 0-2 count.

Faith Nestler earned the win for Lincoln Land Loggers. The hurler surrendered two hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out three and walking five. Brooklyn Ogden took the loss for Heartland Hawks. The hurler went one and two-thirds innings, giving up five runs on five hits, striking out none and walking two.

Lincoln Land Loggers piled up 11 hits in the game. Shelby Finchum and Maddie Adams each collected four hits for Lincoln Land Loggers. Ryleigh Davidson collected three hits for Lincoln Land Loggers in three at bats. Emmy Renfro paced Lincoln Land Loggers with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating four walks for the game. Maddie Adams stole two bases. Lincoln Land Loggers turned one double play in the game. Lincoln Land Loggers were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Maddie Adams had the most chances in the field with five.

Leadoff hitter Concetta DeBord led Heartland Hawks with two hits in three at bats. Shayne Immke led Heartland Hawks with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying five walks for the game. Shayne Immke stole two bases. Heartland Hawks stole three bases in the game. Heartland Hawks turned one double play in the game.

Game 2 - Adams's Big Day Propels Lincoln Land Loggers Past Heartland Hawks

Maddie Adams collected three hits in four at bats, as Lincoln Land Loggers defeated Heartland Hawks 6-5 on Saturday at Normal, IL. Maddie Adams doubled in the sixth inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the fifth inning.

A single by Shayne Immke put Heartland Hawks on the board in the bottom of the first. Brooke Goetter doubled to center field on the eighth pitch of the at-bat, which helped Lincoln Land Loggers tie the game at one in the top of the third. A double by Brooklyn Ogden gave Heartland Hawks the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the third.

Lincoln Land Loggers flipped the game on its head in the top of the sixth, scoring five runs on five hits to take the lead, 6-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Maddie Adams that drove in three.

Brooke Boden started the game for Lincoln Land Loggers. The pitcher surrendered eight hits and two runs over four innings, striking out one and walking two. C Farnam stepped in the circle first for Heartland Hawks. The starter allowed nine hits and six runs over seven innings, striking out none and walking two. Faith Nestler appeared in relief for Lincoln Land Loggers. Lincoln Land Loggers turned one double play in the game.

Heartland Hawks amassed 12 hits in the game. Shayne Immke drove the middle of the lineup, leading Heartland Hawks with two runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Brooklyn Ogden, Kendyl Hurt, Concetta DeBord, Shayne Immke, and C Farnam each collected two hits for Heartland Hawks. Heartland Hawks had a strong eye at the plate, tallying five walks for the game. Brooklyn Ogden and Concetta DeBord led the team with two free passes each. Heartland Hawks were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Kendyl Hurt had the most chances in the field with 12.
