Loggers Cap Off Florida with Two Wins

Game 1 - Lincoln Land Trounce South Florida

Lincoln Land won big over South Florida 8-1 on Tuesday at Avon Park, FL.

Lincoln Land got on the board in the second inning after Abby Hendricks doubled, scoring one run. A single by Maddie Adams extended the Lincoln Land lead to 2-0 in the top of the third inning.

Brooke Boden earned the win for Lincoln Land. The starter allowed two hits and one run over three innings, striking out none and walking two. Reagan Jonas pitched four innings in relief for Lincoln Land. The reliever allowed four hits and zero runs while, striking out two and walking none. A Messina took the loss for South Florida. The starter went seven innings, giving up eight runs on 11 hits, striking out three and walking four.

Lincoln Land tallied 11 hits in the game. Shelby Finchum went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Lincoln Land in hits. Emmy Renfro, Abby Hendricks, and Maddie Adams each drove in two runs for Lincoln Land. Lincoln Land had patience at the plate, accumulating four walks for the game. Lincoln Land turned two double plays in the game. The Loggers were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Allie Dolenc made the most plays with five.

D Ross led the team with one run batted in. Number eight hitter, G Wojcicchon, showed the depth of South Florida's lineup, by leading them with two hits in three at bats. A Marin stole two bases. South Florida ran wild on the base paths, accumulating three stolen bases for the game.

Game 2 - Lincoln Land Loggers Defeat South Florida

Lincoln Land took down South Florida 7-4 on Tuesday at Avon Park, FL. South Florida opened the scoring in the second after S Patterson hit a solo home run to center field. Abby Hendricks singled to center field, which helped Lincoln Land tie the game at one in the top of the third.

In the bottom of the third, South Florida broke up the tie when O Young grounded out, scoring one run. Then a single by D Ross followed to extend the lead to 4-1.

Lincoln Land tied the game up in the top of the fifth thanks to two singles. Lincoln Land tied the game at four on a single by Brooke Boden. Lincoln Land jumped back into the lead in the top of the seventh inning after Abby Mcdonald singled to center field, Sam Gleckler grounded out, and Abby Jackson singled to center field, each scoring one run.

Faith Nestler earned the win for Lincoln Land. The righty allowed two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking none. N Rivera took the loss for South Florida. The pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, surrendering three runs (one earned) on five hits, striking out four and walking none. Maddie Adams stepped in the circle first for Lincoln Land. The starter allowed two hits and four runs over two innings, striking out none and walking three. J Gray stepped in the circle first for South Florida. The pitcher allowed seven hits and four runs over four and one-third innings, striking out two and walking three.

Lincoln Land piled up 12 hits in the game. Abby Hendricks, Shelby Finchum, and Abby Mcdonald each collected two hits for Lincoln Land. Brooke Boden went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Lincoln Land stole three bases in the game.

D Ross drove the middle of the lineup, leading South Florida with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. B Goff, N Rivera, S Patterson, and D Ross each collected one hit for South Florida. South Florida turned one double play in the game.
