Loggers Bats On Fire In Loss To Lake Land Lakers

Both teams put up a bunch of runs, but the Loggers fell to Lake Land Lakers 14-10 on Wednesday. Lake Land collected nine hits, while the Loggers had nine. The Loggers jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Nolan Turner doubled, scoring one run, and Ethan Hurst singled, scoring two runs.

Lake Land flipped the game on its head in the top of the fifth, scoring five runs on one hit to take the lead, 6-4. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in two. Lake Land scored seven runs on four hits in the top of the seventh inning. Nathan Stuemke doubled, scoring two runs, Kaiden Maurer singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Vinny Spotofora singled, scoring one run, Brandon Johnson hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and a steal of home scored one run.

The Loggers scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the seventh inning. Jack Ford was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Kaeden Bowles singled, scoring one run, Colbie Glenn drew a walk, scoring one run, and Nolan Turner singled, scoring two runs.

Eddie Rowe earned the win for Lake Land. The hurler gave up zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out one and walking one. Will Leman stepped on the mound first for the Loggers. The hurler gave up one hit and one run over four innings, striking out three and walking five. Eddie Scaccia stepped on the mound first for Lake Land. The right-handed pitcher gave up six hits and four runs over four innings, striking out four and walking one.

The Loggers accumulated nine hits in the game. Nolan Turner led the Loggers with three hits in six at bats from the leadoff position. Kaeden Bowles and Colbie Glenn each collected multiple hits for the Loggers. The Loggers turned two double plays in the game.

Lake Land accumulated nine hits in the game. Vinny Spotofora drove the middle of the lineup, leading Lake Land with three runs batted in. The left-handed hitter went 2-for-5 on the day. Kiefer Tarnoki, Nathan Stuemke, Kaiden Maurer, and Vinny Spotofora each collected two hits for Lake Land. Lake Land had a strong eye at the plate, amassing nine walks for the game. Nathan Stuemke and Luke Schieltz led the team with two free passes each. Kaiden Maurer and Vinny Spotofora each stole multiple bases for Lake Land. The Lakers stole seven bases in the game. Lake Land Lakers turned one double play in the game.

Loggers welcome Parkland College Cobras on Saturday for their next game.
