Lincoln Land - 69
Lewis and Clark - 91
Lincoln Land fell to the Trailblazers of Lewis and Clark Community College 91-69 on Wednesday evening.
The Loggers found themselves down early in the first half after a Lewis and Clark 12-1 scoring run put the Loggers behind 17-6. The Loggers found themselves down double digits in the first match up between these two teams, so scrapping back into the game was not new for them. Lincoln Land chipped away at that double digit deficit over the next 6:00 and got within 22-19 after an AJ Tillman bucket and a free throw cut it to three. However, over a quick 3:00 stretch Lewis and Clark responded with a 12-0 and put themselves right back ahead by double digits. Scoring neutralized for the reminder of the half and the Trailblazers went in to the break with a 40-28 advantage.
The Loggers were unable to break through in the second half. Lincoln Land briefly cut the lead under 10 on a couple of occasions, but Lewis and Clark responded with scores to push their lead back up. For much of the second half the Loggers found themselves trailing by 10-15 and unable to overcome that gap. Over the closing 4:00 stretch Lewis and Clark built on their advantage and led by a game high 23 in the closing minutes of the game. At the final horn, Lewis and Clark walked out victorious 91-69.
Lincoln Land falls to 3-19 on the year and 1-7 in conference play. The Loggers return home for their next chance Saturday against MWAC rival Illinois Central College at 1 pm.
