Game 1 vs South Florida State College
The Loggers had trouble keeping up with South Florida State College in an 11-5 loss on Tuesday. A single by Samalys Guzman put South Florida State College on the board in the bottom of the first. The Loggers captured the lead, 2-1, in the top of the second after South Florida State College committed an error, and South Florida State College committed an error, each scoring one run. Emmy Renfro hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the third for the Loggers.
South Florida State College took the lead in the bottom of the third. Guzman homered to left field, scoring three runs, to give South Florida State College the advantage, 4-3. Amelia Telger singled, which helped the Loggers tie the game at four in the top of the fourth. South Florida State College flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring five runs on six hits to take a 9-4 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Trinity Roher that drove in two.
South Florida State College scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth on a home run to left field by Brielle Rosa. Megan Bint earned the win for South Florida State College. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and five runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out none and walking none. Maranda File took the loss for the Loggers. The righty went three and two-thirds innings, allowing nine runs (seven earned) on 11 hits, striking out three and walking one.
Renfro provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Loggers with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Renfro, Charlie Hayes, Telger, Ryleigh Davidson, Haley Willan, Allie Dolenc, and Andee Brown each collected one hit for the Loggers.
South Florida State College piled up 13 hits in the game. Guzman led South Florida State College with three hits in three at bats. Rosa, Roher, Kaylee Underwood, and Kaedyn Holcomb each collected multiple hits for South Florida State College.
