The Loggers and South Florida State College played a tight game, but South Florida pulled out the 10-8 victory on Monday. The game was tied at eight with South Florida batting in the bottom of the sixth when Nick Garagozzo singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run. Loggers collected ten hits and South Florida State College had 11 in the high-scoring affair.
South Florida State opened up scoring in the first inning when Jace Jones hit a solo homer.
The Panthers took the lead for good with two runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth an error scored one run for South Florida.
The Loggers put up three runs in the second inning. The Loggers big inning was driven by a walk by Caleb Royer and a double by Drew Ezard.
Shaun Shipley got the start for the Panthers. The righty lasted two innings, allowing three hits and six runs while striking out one.
Brannan Kraft toed the rubber for the Loggers. Kraft lasted four innings, allowing eight hits and seven runs while striking out one and walking one. Griffin Neuweg, Trent Koehler, and Zane Danielson each contributed in relief for Lincoln Land. The Loggers racked up ten hits. Adam Passmore, Hunter Moser, and Royer all collected multiple hits for LLCC. Royer, Moser, and Passmore each collected two hits to lead The Land.
South Florida State racked up 11 hits in the game. Garagozzo and Adrian Davis each managed multiple hits for the Panthers Garagozzo led South Florida State with four hits in five at bats.
