Danville Area - 75
Lincoln Land - 57
The men's basketball regular season came to a close in Danville for the Lincoln Land Loggers, where they came away on the wrong end of a 75-57 game.
The first 5:00 minuets the two teams played back and forth. Each team held a lead twice and the score was also tied twice over that stretch. From there, Danville Area began to pull away and Lincoln Land never fully got back in the contest. In the first half, rebounding hurt the Loggers as Danville pulled in 13 more rebounds, including 6 offensive rebounds that produced 8 second chance points. The Jaguars of DACC slowly pulled out by as many as 13, before Lincoln Land cut it to 10 by the break.
The second half did not change the fortune for LLCC. Although they hung around that 10 point deficit, the Loggers never threatened to get closer than 7 and found themselves down by as many as 19. Danville held firm to their rebounding advantage that was also further aided by the fact that they out shot LLCC 55% to 36% in the contest. Lincoln Land just wan unable to piece together enough stops and scores to get back in the contest.
Moory Woods led LLCC in scoring with 17. Two other Loggers, Axel Laby with 12 and Camren Kincaid with 10, got to double digits, but no one else was able to muster up more than a pair of field goals to hinder the Logger scoring effort.
Lincoln Land closes the regular season 11-16 and 4-6 in the MWAC Conference. They now head to postseason as the #6 seed in the NJCAA Region 24 tournament which will require them to head on the road to Parkland Wednesday, March 8th. LLCC is 2-0 against Parkland this year and hopes to continue that unbeaten streak.
