The Loggers wrapped up their season today with a 2-1 loss in first round of region play to the Parkland Cobras. The Loggers were the first to score on a corner kick play when the Cobra keeper was unable to handle the ball out of the air and the Loggers Maddy Jerszynski buried it in the back of the net. The Loggers would finish the half up 1-0. The second half, both teams would have equal scoring opportunities, however the Cobras found an equalizer with a well struck ball about 40 yards out that fell just under the crossbar.
The Cobras would get the go-ahead goal on a missed clear by the Loggers inside their own box and the Cobras capitalized.
Final score 2-1 Cobras.
Coach Meyer said after the game, "we really did play well. We executed the game plan; we got up early 1-0 in the first half and we hit the crossbar in the early part of the second half. If that falls in, maybe the game has a different outcome. The team played their hearts out and left everything on the field. I couldn't be happier with their play today."
