The Loggers finished up the Iowa Central tourney today with one win and one loss on the day.
First match up was against Fort Scott Community College. The Loggers swept in three straight sets.
Lincoln Land took an early lead, 12-4, forcing a Fort Scott time out. Sophomore Middle Blocker Josie Wolter came up with a solo block making the score 16-8 before finishing out the set 25-14.
In sets two & three, against Fort Scott, Freshman Kenna Bixby got an opportunity to play on the Right Side. Bixby was solid with 3 kills, a pair of aces and positive block touches, helping her team score in transition. The Loggers took set two 25-12. In the third set, Sophomore Middle Blocker, Makenna Buchanan came in to help the Loggers generate another set win with an ace. Emily Veach finished the match with 38 assists. Outside Hitters Bella Powell & Isabel Hudspeth each finished the match notching another double double. The pair had 23 combined kills and 23 combined digs.
The Loggers then turned around to play a fresh Central Nebraska team. The Loggers lost 27-25 in the first set. The Loggers had Central Nebraska down in the second, until they made a 4 point run after being tied with the Loggers at 21 points. The Loggers lost the last set 14-25.
The Loggers return to action next week at the Kirkwood Invitational in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Friday and Saturday.
