The Loggers took on John Wood Community College at home, winning in 3 straight sets. Sets include: 25-14, 25-12, 25-13. The Loggers showed their opponents a new lineup with Bella Powell on the right side, Hannah Clayton playing as an Outside Hitter, and Olivia Torricelli starting as Libero. Clayton and Powell played 6 rotations in the first and second set. Emily Veach served 5 balls to start the Loggers off in the first set. Josie Wolter forced John Wood CC to a timeout at 19-14. After the timeout, Wolter recorded her second ace of the set, and finished the game with a 6-0 run. The Loggers started the second set receiving the ball, going straight to Carly Michels for the kill. The Loggers had a slow start to the second set. The Loggers quickly turned things around and Carly Michals finished the set with a 6-0 serving run. 25-12. Josie Wolter started serving for the Loggers in the third set. Ray Foutch entered the third set at 2-1 to serve and defend for Bella Powell. Emily Veach pushed the Loggers ahead 5-4 with a setter dump. Kenna Buchanan entered the game at 10-4 for Josie Wolter. Carly Michels forced John Wood to a timeout while on a 5-0 service run, finishing with a total 9-0 run. The Loggers tallied a total of 10 aces, Hannah Clayton led with four aces. Isabel Hudspeth led with 12 kills and Carly Michels followed with 11. Emily Veach had 31 assists in the three set match, and Olivia Torricelli led the Loggers with 10 digs. The Loggers travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan this weekend, October 1-2. The Loggers will play a total of four matches; two Saturday and two Sunday. The Loggers will take on Mott Community College at 2:00pm and Muskegon Community College at 6:00pm on Saturday. On Sunday, Kalamazoo Valley Community College at 10:00am and Southwestern Michigan College at 12:00pm.
