The Loggers traveled to Robinson, Illinois to play a tri match with Frontier Community College and Lincoln Trail Community College.
Â
The Loggers walked away from the night sweeping both opponents in three straight sets. The Loggers were lethal from the service line in the third set holding Frontier to only 4 points. After a fist ball side to start the match, Sophomore Outside Hitter, Isabel Hudspeth, went on a 5-point service run, including 3 aces. Frontier was forced to call a time out, down 7-1.
Soon after, Sophomore Carly Michels, went on an absolute terror from the service line, with 16 service attempts and 8 of those attempts being aces. Setting a school record for most aces in a three-set match (8), previously set by Middle Blocker and current Team Manager Sami Eaker in 2021 (7). The Loggers took the first match 25-16, 25-10 & 25-4.
Â
The second match against Lincoln Trail, the Loggers had more to battle than just the player's across the net. The home team's crowd brought a lot of energy and support for the Lincoln Trail team. The Loggers took set one 25-19. The second set started off slow for the Loggers. A Logger time out was called when they were down 9-3. Out of the time out, Sophomore Bell Powell, answered with a monster swing that silenced the crowed. Loggers went on to win the second set 25-20 and the third 25-18.
