Men's Basketball Drop Road Match in Godfrey

Lewis and Clark - 79
Lincoln Land - 72

The Lincoln Land Logger men's basketball team held a lead as late as 3:12 to go and were tied under 2:00, but eventually fell to the Trailblazers of Lewis and Clark College 79-72.

Lincoln Land was able to dress the most players they have all year after getting three players back from injury and the extra bodies proved helpful Monday evening. Earlier in the year Lewis and Clark raced out to a big lead and ran away from the Loggers, tonight LLCC kept pace. The Loggers set the pace and were up by as many as 7 in the first minutes of the first half. The Trailblazer briefly held the lead until LLCC snatched it back and led by 11 after a 13-2 run put them up 33-22. Lewis and Clark was able to get closer and closed the gap to 37-32 at the break.

LLCC led for the first 12:00 minuets of the second half. Until a breakaway layup gave Lewis and Clark a 67-65 lead with under 8:00 in the game. Lewis and Clark got back to back buckets and all of the sudden, LLCC trailed by 5 and appeared to be losing contact. A fast break lead to Camren Kincaid earing 2 points followed by back to back buckets by leading scorer Michael Ousley got the game tied up at 72 with under 2:00 to go. Unfortunately, the Loggers ran out of gas and Lewis and Clark made enough free throws to put the game away until the final score of 79-72.

Lincoln Land drops to 4-6 on the season and again, do not have long to wait as they return home Wednesday and take on Rend Lake before heading to Chicagoland to end the first semester.
