The Loggers traveled to Harrisburg, Illinois today to take on Southeastern Illinois College.
The Loggers started off strong combining a Josie Wolter ace serve and a Bella Powell kill making it 5 to 3. A kill from Michels and an ace from Hudspeth made it 9-4 and forced a Southeastern timeout.
Hudspeth went on a 6 point service run making it 11-5. Veach went on a 3 point service run bringing the Loggers to 18-7. A big kill and block by Pasquino brought the Loggers to 25 points, closing out the set out 25-12.
Set two, the Loggers started strong with a big block from Wolters and Powell followed up with an ace from Emily Veach. A Powell ace brought the Loggers to 4-1. Pasquino had a pair of kills bringing the Loggers to 10-4.
Southeastern produced a string of errors in addition to two Michel aces bringing the score to 21-7. A Veach ace gave the Logs 23-8 before the Loggers took the second set 25-11.
The Loggers jumped on the Falcons early in set three, making it 8-1 before a Southeastern timeout. Wolters continued her service run of 8 serves and two aces bringing the Loggers to a 11-2 lead. A Michels ace gave the Loggers 17-5 lead. A Powell kill brought the Loggers to 22-9 before a Michels kill making it 23-9. The Loggers took the third set 25-10 and ultimately swept Southeastern Illinois College.
The Loggers continue play this Friday and Saturday at the Parkland tournament The Loggers play at 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
