Early Lead For Delgado Community College Seals Fate For Loggers
Loggers fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 5-2 loss to Delgado Community College on Wednesday. Delgado Community College scored on a home run by Michael Stutes in the first inning, a double by Stutes in the second inning, and a single by Feustle in the second inning.
Delgado Community College pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second Stutesdoubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs and Feustle singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Cory Cook got the win for Delgado Community College. He went six innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out ten. Barthelemy threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Barthelemy recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Delgado Community College.
Lee Hardiek took the loss for Loggers. He went two innings, allowing five runs on six hits, striking out five and walking one.
Loggers launched one home run on the day. Kyle Werrieswent deep in the second inning.
Werries went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Loggers in hits.
Stutes led Delgado Community College with two hits in four at bats.
