LLCC defeats Frontier 25-21, 25-12, 25-18
LLCC defeated Frontier in three setsÂ
Friday night in a Region 24 match, running the Logger Region record to 3-1 on the season. The Loggers started slow, totaling five missed serves in the first set along with six unforced hitting errors, falling in a 15-8 hole before tying it at 20 on a kill by freshman Mary Hill. "We've spent the past two practices on those errors, trying to work through them in multiple ways, so it was a bit disheartening to come out with those right off the bat," Coach Dietz said. "The bright spot is we don't give up and that's a big bright spot." LLCC took the lead with another Hill kill and a solo block by Sami Eaker fresh off the disabled list, eventually winning 25-21 on a Frontier hitting error.

In the second set, the Loggers took a 3-1 lead behind an ace by freshman libero Natalie Bates, but then permitted FCC to tie it at 6 with three more hitting errors. Mary Hill's line shot ended the run of errors and behind the blocking of Eaker and fellow freshman Annika Black, LLCC opened an 11-8 lead that widened with a Kate Volk ace. In the end, Kennedy Bauer's swing gave LLCC a 25-12 win.

The third set saw the teams exchange errorsÂ
until 8-8 when Black was able to but down two kills to open a small lead. It stayed that way until a block by Volk and Maggie PlushÂ
at 19-17Â put LLCC onto a long positive streak that included an ace by Ashley Melton with LLCC winning on a Plush kill 25-18.
