GAME ONE:
#13 LLCC loses to #18 DMACC 25-15, 24-26, 21-25, 21-25
LLCC splits two matches at the Parkland Invitational on Friday, looking to 18th ranked DMACC before defeating D-III 8th ranked Rock Valley.  The Loggers decisively won the first set against the DMACC Bears, but then permitted a run of errors in each of the next 3 sets to give DMACC a close victory. The Loggers were lead on defense by Bobbi Marusic with 15 digs while Olivia Dour dominated with her blocking (2 solo blocks, 4 block assists). Coach Dietz said afterwards, "It is unfortunate we made so many errors on defense because it took away from a great match blocking as a team and especially the hitting we got from Kiley (Brunstein) and Erika (Miller). It was not a case of giving up. We will play hard till the end, but sometimes we are still making unnecessary errors. When we are NOT doing that," Coach Dietz continued, " we play very good volleyball."
Game One Stats:
Digs:Â Marusic 15, Brunstein 14
Aces:Â Brunstein 2, Jackson 2
Blocks:Â Dour 6, Miller 4

#13 LLCC defeats D-3 #8 Rock Valley 25-15, 24-26, 25-15, 25-12
Against Rock Valley, it looked look like deja vu all over again as the Loggers won the first set 25-15, and then lost the second set 24-26. This time, though, the Loggers did not have another string of unforced errors in the remainder of the match. The Loggers were pace again by the hitting of Kiley Brunstein and Erika Miller who combined for 28 kills. Ashley Melton dominated at the net with 7 blocks. After the match, Coach Dietz said, "We had another good hitting match, but what got us started were a couple points by Maree (Taig) when she crushed a couple of overpasses. I thought Lainey Jackson did a great job mixing up where the ball went. Now we have to turn around and get ready for tomorrow and play two more ranked teams. I am happy we play hard in these tournaments against good teams. It is challenging and not always easy to win when it is Top 20 team after team after team on your schedule, but this is how you try and build a tough team, and we are capable of being that."
Lincoln Land improves to 9-7 on the season and will next play Saturday  at noon at Parkland Tournament
