The home opener for the Loggers was against Moraine Valley Community College on Saturday afternoon. In their first game of the season Lincoln Land was able to score first as about 15:00 into the game, Sergio da Ventura dribbled down the right side and slid a pass into Christian Fierro who took a couple dribbles and hit a high shot past the goalie and into the net to put LLCC up 1-0.

Unfortunately, shortly after their goal the Loggers' best defender and captain, Matheus Sobucki, suffered an injury and had to come out. Not long after Sobucki went out the Loggers faced a disastrous 3:00 period where they gave up two goals and found themselves down 2-1 at half. The Loggers played tough in the 2nd half and had 3 good chances to score, but couldn't connect.
